Caritat is Medical specialist in clinical pharmacology with thorough experience in drug development and regulation in different settings, from the pharmaceutical industry to academy and administration. She has been a number of years working in early phase clinical development, phase III clinical research, regulatory affairs, pharmacovigilance, and pharmacoepidemiology. As European Expert appointed by the Spanish Medicines Agency has contributed to more Scientific Advice and Early Dialogue procedures.

She joined the Catalan Health Service in 2016, in charge of drug appraisal and positioning for budget prioritization; since 2020 she holds the Medicines Manager position. Associated professor at the Department of Pharmacology, Therapeutics, and Toxicology at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona since 2011, she is teaching Pharmacology and Clinical Pharmacology at the Medical School. Director of 8 completed and 7 ongoing Ph.D. projects, her recent research has been focused on improving methods for drug development in small populations, independent pragmatic trials, and pharmacoepidemiology.
