Francisco is a Professor at the School of Information and Communication Science Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC). Co-founder at Open Evidence. Ph.D. in the Information and Knowledge Society, Internet Interdisciplinary Institute (IN3), Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC). He has a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, from the Universidad de Oviedo. His teaching areas at the School of Information and Communication Science are related with Network Society (Information Policies, Information Society, Network Society, and New Media).
His research field is concerned with the social, economic, cultural, and policy issues associated with information and communication technologies specially focused on Innovative Technologies; Networked Citizens; eGovernment; eHealth; eInclusion. He was a Scientific Officer at Information Society Unit – European Commission, DG JRC Institute for Prospective Technological Studies (IPTS) to work on economic evaluation and modeling of Personal Health Systems. He was a postdoctoral research fellow at The Science & Technology Studies Unit, in the Department of Sociology at the University of York (UK).
