Gerard I. Gállego is a PhD student at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) in Barcelona, as member of the Intelligent Data Science and Artificial Intelligence Research Center (IDEAI-UPC) and the Machine Translaton group (MT-UPC). He graduated in Telecommunication Technologies and Services Engineering at ETSETB (UPC) in 2019. He holds a Master’s degree in Advanced Telecommunication Technologies, with a specialization in Deep Learning for Multimedia Processing. After working during one year in a start-up, applying Deep Learning for improving recycling rates, he started his PhD in 2020. His research experience is mainly in Machine Translation, specially in Speech-to-Text Translation. He also has expertise in Sign Language Translation and Interpretability methods. He has been teaching Deep Learning courses at bachelor’s, master’s and postgraduate levels since 2020.
