Juan Luis Cano is an Aerospace Engineer with a passion for scientific computing, applied math, education and outreach. His most important personal project is Poliastro, a pure Python library for preliminary orbital mechanics computations, developed using the best of breed open source technology and quality assurance tools. It’s the perfect combination of the things that he loves: astrodynamics and open source coding.
He combines his Software Engineer job at Satellogic with Python teaching positions and freelance Big Data projects for the Aerospace industry. In his spare time he evangelizes about F/OSS software in scientific computing and academia, specially the Python programming language. He is the chair of the Python Spanish association, which intends to consolidate the community around the language in Spain.
