Laia is a full-time PhD student from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya and Barcelona Supercomputing Center. Being a Telecommunications Engineer (both undergraduate and masters), she has worked on the technical application of deep learning to the medical field, and has recently switched to Sign Language Understanding for her thesis. Since starting the phd, she has enjoyed motivating students to learn more about the technology behind deep learning and has participated at different level courses: undergraduate, masters and postgraduate.
