Oscar Garcia-Esquirol is a physician and healthcare innovator with a strong focus on improving access to medical care through digital technology. In 2011, he co-founded Mediktor in Barcelona with Cristian Pascual, aiming to streamline the pre-diagnosis process and provide patients with an intuitive, safe tool to evaluate their symptoms from anywhere, anytime. Mediktor’s AI-driven symptom checker is clinically validated with a 91.3% success rate, covering 760 diseases across 10 languages, and has released over 160 versions of its application.
Oscar combines his expertise in intensive care with technology-driven healthcare solutions to optimize the patient journey, improve decision-making, and reduce time and costs in medical care. He actively participates in clinical research and global trials to expand Mediktor’s validation and impact.
In addition to his startup work, Oscar contributes to the healthcare ecosystem as C-level leader at Barcelona & Madrid Health Hub, as well as an instructor for emergency medical training programs. His career spans over 25 years in intensive care medicine, integrating hands-on patient care with innovation in digital health solutions.
