Franco Bonifetto
Franco Bonifetto is a student from the Master in Big Data Solutions at Barcelona Technology School. He comes from Argentina and now he is being immersed in the world of data in Barcelona. Let’s discover his new experiences.
What inspired you to study abroad?
I came here to study abroad not only to get a multicultural experience but also because in Argentina it was hard to find a Master related to big data. I chose Barcelona to study abroad because it’s a tech city, so I can have the possibility to be around international students, relate myself with other cultures, and somehow open the world to new possibilities.
How is living in Barcelona?
Living in Barcelona is quite exciting. I had the possibility to find a football team, so I’m using the same routine that I had at home. It’s a great city, and there are good parties and beaches. It’s very easy to move around because the transportation is really easy and fast. In the end, the food, the transportation, and the people all are great.
What do you expect for your internships?
I’m actually learning a lot about the startup world, not only because I’m working now in Barcelona Tech City, an environment where a lot of startups are running so it’s a cool working space. Also I’m learning a lot about how to start, to validate and to reshape a project, being in continue iteration, talking to customers and being able to understand what they need, and build the product from what you listen, what you see as a constant, and be surrounded by applications and programs that make things easy.
How do you see yourself in the future?
I see myself starting something from my own, a startup which should be involved in helping people. I hope I can achieve that. It can be small o big, but something on my own for sure.
Are you developing new skills at Barcelona Technology School?
Yeah, I’m developing a lot of new skills. I come from a business background because I studied Advertising and I’m here doing tech, big data, and everything related to coding, so that’s a whole new world for me. Also, the fact of being an intern in a startup makes me discover a whole new world of how things work and the dynamic of all this new ecosystem.
What’s your review of Barcelona Technology School? and why would you recommend BTS?
Barcelona Technology School is not only about classes, it’s about going to the world, so I think it’s one of the key things that BTS has. Going to congress like IOT, Smart City, Mobile World Congress, 4YFN… There is a whole new experience, making different dynamics in each one of those. And teachers are great. They have a vast experience and it’s easy to understand their classes.
Is this time abroad impacting your life?
Yeah, that’s for sure. I think I grew in this year more than I grew in ten years. This experience has been great, living abroad by myself, traveling a lot, meeting new people from different cultures, and living a whole new life and I’m embracing that.
How is your experience at Barcelona Technology School?
BTS has been enlightened. It has opened a whole new door for me.
