Neil Patel
Neil Patel comes from India and is studying User Experience Design in Barcelona Technology School. Neil tells that he is learning multiple new skills that will enable him to become more universal professional in the future.
What inspired you to study abroad?
Since I was a child, I always had a fascination to go to different places, to have my educations done. So, for my master’s I wanted to go abroad. As there was an opportunity for me to come, I came here for a new experience.
How is living in Barcelona?
Living in Barcelona is amazing as we have multiple cultures over here and everyone is welcome. We have diversity in the class and even in the place I stay. So, getting together and being welcomed over here it is quite amazing to be in a place like this.
How do you see yourself in the near future?
Firstly, and professional-wise, I see myself working at a certain company but in long-term I will always want to be an entrepreneur. So, a long-term goal is to be an entrepreneur, as being Patel, obviously I have to be an entrepreneur by blood.
Are you developing new skills?
This master’s of mine is quite different from what I did. I was a technical student in computer applications, so I was more into coding and over here, I am learning more about designing, prototyping, testing, which is what we are doing quite in-depth, so I am learning those new skills to be all-run package in my education and my skills.
Why would you recommend Barcelona Technology School?
One thing is being in Barcelona as a city, and being in correlation with University of Barcelona, and plus the coordinators and the teachers. We have 1-on-1 touch with all the teachers so if we have a problem, there is an instant solution. There is no delay in administrative time. And the professors are quite well and better than ones that I had in past.
Is this time abroad impacting your life?
Yes, there are pretty many differences in where I am currently being. This is my first time not being near family and probably it is going to be long year over here till I meet them. It’s actually quite different atmosphere to be and study and it’s like standing on your own foot for the first time.
How is your experience at Barcelona Technology School?
My experience in Barcelona Technology School has been pretty amazing as there are students from different cultures and all over the world – we get to know each other and where they come from. As their backgrounds are different, we get to explore each and every aspect of their background and mine, and learn more out of it.
