Stella Rwegasira is a student of the Master in Digital Solutions Development, coming from Tanzania. She is an entrepreneur and digital developer who is upgrading the skills of Web Development, Programming and Digital Innovation at Barcelona Technology School.
Let´s discover how she describes her student experience at BTS.
What inspired you to study abroad?
I was inspired to be an international student to meet people from all over the world and get new ideas, new experiences, and new knowledge of technology. So, I decided to study the Master in Digital Solutions Development at BTS.
How is living in Barcelona?
I like Barcelona very much. It’s a great city with beautiful sea, different cultures, people from different nationalities, and a lot of cultural and social events. Also, people here are very nice. It depends on everyone’s personal experience but for me, living in Barcelona is really fulfilling.
How do you see yourself in the future?
The main reason for coming here was to study, and now at almost the end of my master course, I’ve already gained many skills which I didn’t have before and I got to learn some other new things that I think will really help me a lot. In the future, I will use the knowledge that I’ve acquired in many aspects.
Are you developing new skills at Barcelona Technology School?
Yes of course. I’ve learned a lot of new skills in this Master, such as Agile, Coding, Scrum, Big Data, Cloud Computing, Digital Innovation, Entrepreneurship, etc. I got to know different companies which are offering cloud services and how the services are utilized. So this experience at Barcelona Technology School is really valuable and helpful to me.
What’s your review of Barcelona Technology School? and why would you recommend BTS?
In my opinion, Barcelona Technology School has a good education ecosystem. You can learn from teachers who are well equipped with knowledge and they are able to transmit their insight as they teach. Also, at BTS many teachers come from different sectors, which allows me to know that what I´m learning is very needed in a lot of industries now.
Is this time abroad impacting your life?
Yes of course. I´ve come to a new city, met new people, and learned new knowledge. This experience really helps me expand my network and I see it very important to me.
How is your experience at Barcelona Technology School?
It´s challenging but very rewarding. As there is no shortcut to progress, if I want to achieve something, I have to sacrifice something. Being here for 9 months, leaving my home country, leaving my people, leaving the things that I used to do, it´s not that easy. However, when I look back at the whole process, I find this experience challenging but very rewarding.
