Silvia Alcaraz-Dominguez devotes her professional activity to make learning a better experience, mainly through academic research. In this context, she designs and evaluates technology-mediated innovations that aim to improve students, teachers, and education managers’ experience. She has participated in projects involving videogames, augmented reality, cloud computing and other technologies, as applied to a wide range of educational levels and contexts. Silvia’s multidisciplinary academic training (a major in communication, a master’s degree in technology, and a PhD in Education) provides her with a holistic vision about the phenomenon of learning, which is most needed in the current knowledge society.
Her research is funded by public and private institutions, including the European Commission and Caixabank, and developed mostly at University of Barcelona – Faculty of Education. She is also a learning facilitator and consultant to other education-related institutions.
